DIY Pre-Wedding Hair

Most brides are concentrating so much on THE day that they can sometimes overlook how important they must look for the pre-wedding festivities. Brides need to save money where they can and can’t always run to the hair salon for every event (although a live-in stylist would make life so much easier!). Instead of spending money to get your hair styled for your engagement pictures, shower(s), bachelorette party and/or rehearsal dinner, there are some great DIY hairstyles that will make you look like a million bucks without spending the money.

I ran into a DIY wedding hair section on MarthaStewartWeddings.com . While I would never suggest doing your own hair on your wedding day (you have enough to think about!), there are some cute styles that are pretty easy to do with a little bit of patience. This one half up do is my favorite, although the side chignon is super cute too.

Step 1
Use a large-barrel curling iron to create loose curls all around your head, from the ears down.

Step 2
Part your hair in the middle, and use your fingers to loosen and separate the curls.

Step 3
Starting halfway down the part, begin spritzing your roots with hairspray. Continue to the crown.
